CEO of epublica
Software patents will turn our daily business into an unpredictable danger zone. Several software development methods have been patented in the US and license fees were enforced in US courts, even for trivial programming techniques or for well known prior art.
As a small company, we simply cannot afford to research all possible patents or to challenge prior art.
For corporations, software patents are suitable tactical weapons if they need to remove a smaller competitor such as our company. They already have enough patents to hand to strike at will.
